The NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm is a good attempt from NARS. This colour lip balm from NARS is the same as the Orgasm blush. It has flecks of rose gold and gold shimmer to make this lip colour very glowy and dewy on the lip. There aren’t any other shades of the Afterglow Lip Balm but that’s what is so unique about the NARS Orgasm collection. While I love this brand and the quality of the products, I know that there are many NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm Dupes out there!
I also know that every few years, NARS loves to continue to celebrate the Orgasm collection and adds a few more items that fans just “can’t live without” and jack up the prices. Currently, the Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm is $35 CAD (click here to see reviews on Sephora!), which is a lot considering it’s a sheer tint. When I pay premium, I expect a rich colour payoff. However, the NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm isn’t mean to do that, it’s mean to be an everyday swipe of colour.
However, the NARS ORGASM Afterglow Lip Balm reminds me of another very sultry lip balm collection from Dior. The Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm have a wider range of colours and finishes. This is a balm that provides moisture and a hint of colour. There are also other brands that do the exact same thing to the lips that you can get for much cheaper.
Here are some dupes for the NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm:
Dior Addict Lip Glow – Even though it is more expensive than the Nars Orgasm Afterglow, I always find that Dior Makeup has incredible quality. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE NARS and their quality but Dior Makeup is more of a luxury brand compared to NARS. The Dior Makeup lipsticks and lip glosses are always so moisturizing and have great colour payoff. There are also many other Dior lip glow dupes as well if you don’t want to spend the money. Which can all be found if you keep reading this review.
- Mac Tendertalk Lip Balm – If you’re a Mac Cosmetics lover, you’ll appreciate hte Mac Tendertalk Lip Balm. With the price being lower than Nars and Dior, you’ll love the way this balm easily glides on and moisturizers. Receiving almost a 5 star review on MacCosmetics.ca, I would say you can’t go wrong with this product. It comes in a few colours: Candy Wrapped, Play with me, Side Dish and Teddy Pink. Although the colours appear deep, they go on more like the Dior Lip Glow for a sheer swipe of colour.
Maybelline “Baby Lips Glow Balm” – The Maybelline Baby Lips line has been a drugstore makeup favourite loved by all since it first came out. Baby Lips is all about maintaining moisture while appearing with a subtle colour like the rest of them. At the lowest price point in the bunch, it’s hard to resist this as an option for a sheer lip glow. I would say that a packaging junkie like me wouldn’t go for it simply because it looks like something a 6 year old would purchase. However, if it does the job then I ain’t no snob and Imma buying it anyway!
- tarte “Quench Lip Rescue” – For a brand that is more middle of the road in terms of pricing, has great packaging and is animal friendly, I suggest picking up the Tarte Quench Lip Rescue. From the Rainforest of the Sea Collection, the products have been sourced all over the world (think New Zealand and Australia), to get the best natural products for skin and lips. The colour payoff is about the same if not more and the colour range is more than any of the other ones listed above.
In short, there are many NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm Dupes that can be bought. I don’t think I’ve listed all of the NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm Dupes in this blog post! I would love to hear if you have any other Nars Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm dupes for me to report on!
