It’s been too long since I entered the makeup aisle in my local drugstore. Drugstore makeup has definitely had to keep up new makeup trends and techniques. I understand how costly it is to constantly purchase luxury beauty brands even if the quality is perfection.
I stumbled upon a large array of Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick that was on sale for $6.99 at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. If they weren’t on sale, the price point of $11.99 is nothing to laugh at – its perfect. Especially if there are a few colours missing in your collection, the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick is perfect for that.
So, am I happy with my purchase….?
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick Review
The Packaging and Product
The Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick comes in your traditional lipstick tube. The thing I like most about it is that the outer case resembles or comes close to the colour of the lipstick.
The shades are plentiful and range in different textures from mattes to creamy. I honestly was able to select 3 amazing colours in under 5 minutes.
I chose colors based on super pigmented to more natural. Actually, I love when you put all three together – the perfect spring combo.
From top to bottom:
#675 Faint for Fuchsia – Matte
#665 Lush for Blush – Matte
#910 Bare All – Creamy
I’m going to let you judge for yourselves from the photos and lipstick swatches. These lipsticks did not need many swipes to go on evenly and smoothly. I feel like the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick feel like luxury brands such as MAC or NARS. I also find them blend able with some of my other lipsticks and glosses. I combined my NARS Turkish delight on top of the (xxx) nude for a spring time vibe.
If I could buy these in every colour I would. They are fun and flirty for spring and a must-have in my opinon. Like I mentioned, I love luxury brands but if I have to look outside of some of my favourite brands, the Maybelline Lipsticks suit my needs entirely.
Have you tried them before? Let me know what you think!
