My Night Skincare Regimen in 3 steps
Welcome to Skincare Week Day 2! My night skincare regimen us is one that I created recently. I never used to have a skincare regimen at night that I followed regularly. However, I find that when I wake up my skin looks 10000x better than if I hadn’t cleansed and polished. Also, as you sleep, your body generates increased levels of the growth hormone and helps us to heal and grow new cells.
Also, you can customize any night skincare regimen to suite your own needs, this one is just what I have found that works for me.
And shocker: It includes Ole Henrikson products because I really love how they work for my skin type. My skin type is more combination to dry and is sensitive.
Let’s get into the night skincare regimen:
Step 1 – Cleanse
We have to be mindful to take our makeup off each night. GUILTY. I sometimes don’t do this and my husband calls me “Raccoon eyes” because I have this unsightly black run off from my mascara. Cleansing the skin removes dirt and oil from the skin. I also find it helps with these blocked pores on the side of the nose called: Sebaceous Filaments. I also remove these with tweezers but I wouldn’t be able to do that if I do not cleanse my face at night. The sebaceous filaments WILL return, but they make skin bumpy and harder to apply foundation. So, these little suckers need to be removed asap.
Step 2 – Night Serum
In the Ole Henrikson product lines, I have been using the Invigorating Night Transformation Gel. This gel gets absorbed by the skin instantly because it is a serum. A serum will penetrate deep into the skin where you get the benefits of the ingredients in the product. The Invigorating Night Transformation Gel is a facial re-texturizing gel which combats dull skin texture, uneven skin tone and dark spots because it contains an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) complex. The serum goes on and cools but can leave skin tight so that leads us to the next step!
Step 3 – Moisturize
As we learned from the post yesterday, on the best moisturizers – it’s really important to find a moisturizer you love. I tend to stick to the same brand Ole Henrikson but that doesn’t mean you have to. I do use the Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer by Ole Henrikson but feel free to use a heavier moisturizer at night since you’re not applying makeup on top of your skin.
